Why I Switched

Often, I’ve been asked why/how I started writing and how I convinced someone to read and publish my work.  It was truly divine providence.  Seeing where the united States was going with the administration elected in 2008, it occurred to me that I had something to say from a different perspective — an average working individual from the South dealing with the fallout from poor policies, deliberate action to  undermine this nation, and seemingly nonchalant attitude encountered by individuals I knew.

Simply starting with emails sent to a contact list, I began to formulate pulling articles together found on various news sites to offer contacts a different perspective than mainstream media.  After a few months of that, I found the site, Freedom Outpost.  I read and digested the material there.  The principles conveyed by the various contributors matched my own.  Contacting the editor after getting courage one day, I wrote to ask if he was looking for more contributors and would he review, evaluate, and provide an opinion on my work to see if it fit with the mission of the site.  In short order, I received an email response thanking me for the inquiry and asking for an article for review.  I sent the article.

The editor sent me an email back saying it was being posted.  Nervous was an understatement when finding out I had an article go public.  According to the editor, it did well for the day it was posted.  He requested more.  And, that’s where it all began.  Now, I am published at three sites and have started blogging to keep my articles in one place, reach others in the blogging community, and have more flexibility in creativity.

Occasionally, the impatience with certain groups of people can surface meaning an explosive article firing rapid points of criticism is produced.  Using the tag, “eruption of Mt. Hamner,” readers are sure to get quick pointed rebuttals against several news articles.  It can be entertaining as well as informative.

So, pull up a chair, sit back with a cup of coffee, tea or your favorite beverage and read what you find interesting.  Comments and discussion are welcome.
